Corrupt mailboxes.

hi, my OE7 iscorrupt: and need to know how to fix it. can this cause a defrag to not run? I've tried unhiding system files. Please help.

It is possible that afailure to defrag is harder to accomplish but most likely using the disk error checking feature or scandisk will clean this up. as far as the corrupt mailbox issue, do a search on repairing DBX files and that could help. if you don't care about the old emails, renaming the folder that contains the dbx files will cause it to create a clean empty one and now everything will work, If it is one subfolder, the same can be done there as well. For example the sent folder is called sent.dbx. Finding this file and renaming it sent.dbx.old will cause outlook express to create a new one. Because you might have many subfolders, to maintain these, that might be the approach I would consider. You may, in some cases need to recreate the subfolder to use it again. Hope some of this helps.
